General Description

The iML8691 is a current controller with dimming control function. It can drive an external N-channel power MOSFET on and off for dimming the current flowing through an LED string. The application of the iML8691 is configured to drive an external power NMOS in serial with an LED string. The DC dimming control signal applied to the DIM pin is converted to Pulse Width Modulation signal to adjust the LED brightness.

The iML8691 works as a constant current sink with over voltage protection (OVP), dual mode over temperature protection (OTP), and line regulation compensation  function.  It  is  suitable  for  the applications adopting rectified periodical AC voltage source.
